Roadmap
Where Kinverse stands today — and what's coming next.
An honest list. What's live, what we're building, what's planned. Not a marketing path, but the working list we keep internally too.
Phase 1 · Q2/2026 — ongoing
Build and share your family
What's live today. The app is in alpha, opening gradually. If you want to build and document a family properly, you can do it now.
- LiveFamily tree editor with classic and timeline modes
- LiveKinship engine (relationship terms correct across generations)
- LiveTree consistency checker (data inconsistency warnings)
- LiveMulti-photo upload with lightbox and bounding boxes for multi-person photos
- LiveLife events as their own nodes (14 types)
- LiveRegion-aware timeline with historical world events
- LiveAI import „family from text" (free text → people / relationships)
- LiveAI-generated biographies per person (clearly marked as AI)
- LiveMerge people (with conflict dialog)
- LiveFamily health check (plausibility, duplicate detection)
- LiveGEDCOM import and export (Ancestry, MyHeritage, FamilySearch compatible)
- LiveOwner / Editor / Viewer roles, magic-link invitations
- LiveAnniversary mails (birthdays, wedding anniversaries) via Inngest
- LiveEU hosting: Postgres + Neo4j + R2 + Resend, all in the EU
Phase 1.5 · Q3/2026
DACH archives and AI transcription
The depth for the German-speaking region. If you want to dig into church records and old handwriting, you should be able to do it in the Kinverse workflow — not across five different tabs.
- In progressArchion integration (Protestant church records)
- In progressMatricula integration (Catholic church records)
- PlannedCompGen integration (genealogical collections)
- In progressAI transcription for Kurrent and Sütterlin scripts
- PlannedVirtual Genealogist — AI research agent searching DACH archives
- LiveTopothek place deep links to regional image archives
Phase 2 · Q4/2026
Public launch and migration
The app opens for everyone. At the same time, the 23andMe migration arrives with DNA raw data import. Anyone switching gets a clear path.
- PlannedPublic app access (end of Phase 1 alpha)
- PlannedDNA raw data import (23andMe-compatible, EU-hosted)
- PlannedRelative matching across the user base
- PlannedFair Pricing Pledge finalised — price sealed
- PlannedPrint marketplace (family books, tree prints, wall art)
Phase 3 · 2027
Voice memory and audio stories
Grandparents tell their stories on the landline — Kinverse calls, listens, transcribes. No app, no smartphone, on a receiver they know.
- PlannedVoice interview agent on the landline (Storii-inspired, EU-hosted)
- PlannedAudio stories (podcast-style from family material)
- PlannedVideo export — curated mini-documentaries from family material
- PlannedMail-in digitization (photos, letters, tapes)
